This paper investigates the impact of obesity on employment in Korea using National Health and Nutrition Survey Data from 2005 to 2011. I use instrument variables to control for endogeneity of obesity and estimate employment equation by two step estimation method. The estimation results show that obesity has a positive effect on employment when obesity is defined as the Body Mass Index(BMI) over 25. However, obesity has a significant negative impact on employment when obesity is defined as the BMI over 30 or wast circumstances over 90cm for men and 80cm for women.
